Nancy Wolf of State College, Pennsylvania died on August 26, 2024.
She had lived at the Village at Penn State since 2014. Nancy was born April 23,1936 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Duane and Inez (Philpot) Wolf. A lifetime teacher, Nancy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Michigan, a Master’s degree from San Francisco State University; and a Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Reading and Language Arts.
Nancy taught in the Greenwich, Connecticut Public Schools for 34 years. She taught third and fourth grades in Old Greenwich School. Later she was an elementary Reading Specialist responsible for both curriculum and developmental programs for students in various schools in Greenwich. Her last assignment was in Riverside School.
A member of the Greenwich Education Association, she was president of the Association for five years. Nancy was on the Boards of both the Connecticut Education Association and the National Education Association. Helping teachers and their students was the focus of these involvements.
After retiring from active teaching Nancy was President of the Alpha Chapter of Connecticut Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society for women teachers.
She was a member of the Old Greenwich Congregational Church for 40 years.
Nancy is survived by her brother Ronald Wolf and wife Linda of Chicago; nephews, Brinker Wolf and wife Meghan, as well as their children Connor and Thomas, and Michael Wolf and wife Valerie, and their children Benjamin and Henry.
Burial will be private.
