Obituary of Albert William Watson , 85

Albert W. Watson, 85, of Bellefonte, died at Centre Crest on Thursday, August 7, 2009.

He was born in Union Township, July 20, 1924, a son of Merrill A. and Ruth Bierly Watson. On April 9, 1955, he was married to the former Elizabeth White, who survives with two sons, Jonathan (Connie) of Lewistown and Roger of Modesto, CA. He is also survived by two brothers: David (Esther) of Runville and Thomas (Nancy) of Milesburg and two sisters: Jean (Reverend Floyd) Emerson of The Dalles, Oregon and Edith (William) Mackereth of Clearfield, one granddaughter Amanda (Andrew) Wright of New Castle, one step grandson Christopher (Michelle) Stuter of Lewistown, four great grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren.

Albert was an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, teaching Sunday school for many years.

In 1988, he retired from Cerro Metals as a tool and die designer, after 40 years of service.

He was corporal in the Army during WWII and received several medals while serving in Europe including the Expert and Combat Infantry Badge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Maurice, Walter and Blanchard.

Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2009 from 7-9 PM at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the funeral home,with the Reverend Andrew R. Morgan officiating.
