Allen W. “Al” Lease, 80, of Centre Hall, passed away on December 19, 2018, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.
Born November 26, 1938, in Somerset County, PA, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Ruby ( McVicker) Lease. On November 24, 1990, he married Lauren (Warholic) who survives at home in Centre Hall.
Al was a US Navy Hospital Corpsman at Camp Legeune, NC. Via the GI bill, he completed his undergraduate degree and became an Inhalation Therapist. He later continued his education at Duke University School of Medicine in the 8th class of the Physician Assistant Program.
Al became one of Pennsylvania's first practicing certified Physician Assistants. He worked for Internal Medicine Association which is now Mount Nittany Physician Group.
Along with his wife Lauren, he is survived by three daughters; Roxanne Lease, Rosaline (Gregg Ridge), Beckie (Steve Maczuga); one grandson; Blade Maczuga; one step-son, Rand Phelan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lease and step-son, Jack Phelan.
Al had a lifelong love of woodworking, gardening, genealogy, and Civil War history. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The memorial service will immediately follow with The Reverend Alex Dyakiw officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in AL’s memory to the Centre Hall Library, P.O. Box 492, Centre Hall, PA.
