Anna Marie Bollinger, 83, of State College, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Waukegan, IL, and a recent resident of Juniper Village and Hearthside Nursing Center, entered her heavenly home on Monday, April 13, 2015 after an extended illness.

Born February 7, 1932, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Hail) Steinke. On June 22, 1957, she married Floyd Bollinger, who preceded her in death on December 17, 1987.

She is survived by a daughter, Beth Bollinger Hlywiak and husband Kevin of State College; three grandchildren, Emily, James, and Christiana Hlywiak; and extended family Peter and Timothy Koenck, Marvin Bollinger, Gina Koenck Bents and family, Frances and Jill Bollinger, and the John Hail family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Bollinger and three siblings, Katherine, Laurence and Joseph.

Prior to her marriage, she was a secretary at Mutual Trust Insurance Company in Chicago.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, State College, and of its Prayer Ministry.

Anna was a devout Christian and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her humility, unfailing commitment to doing right, and subtle sense of humor. She was dedicated to helping others and enjoyed volunteering for Victory Memorial Hospital and Jack Benny Middle School in Waukegan, and Meals on Wheels in Mechanicsburg.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 851 North Science Park Road, State College, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., Reverend Bryan J. Spang officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, at 3 p.m.
