Barbara A. Bollinger, 62, of Reedsville, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Lewistown Hospital. Born May 3, 1947, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Michael P. and Mary (Jabco) Benzie.
Her husband, Gary L. Bollinger, whom she married April 10, 1970, survives. Also surviving are children, Scott A. Bollinger and wife Annie, of Pensacola, Fla., Terri M. Whitsel and husband Ken, of Lewistown and Candace R. Bollinger, of Woodbridge, Va.; sisters, Catherine Brown and Mary Jane Grenoble and husband Jim, all of Bellefonte; grandchildren, Jordan L. Bollinger, Sierra M. Bollinger, Shauna I. Bollinger, Kaiulani Grebin, Alana Grebin, Brandi Cambra, Kasandra Whitsel, Rylie Whitsel, Brandon Cambra, Daulton Whitsel and Kalei Grebin; great-grandson, Kalahikiola Bollinger-Grebin and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William S. Benzie.
She was a 1966 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She was a Lab Technician at Black's Hospital, Lewistown and then for Dr. Xanthopoulos for over 20 years and last for Geisinger Medical Clinic in State College. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Barbara loved her grandchildren and her dogs, Teto and Bear and hosting family gatherings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Weary officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday, March, 5, 2010, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, with a scripture service at 8:30 p.m.
