Barbara Plantz Barbara Plantz, 86, of State College passed away at home July 7, 2009. She was born in Durango, Colorado. She was married to Leonard Plantz for 66 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her six children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The local family includes Rose and Phil Park, Lori and Mick Dundon, and Sara and Mike Brennen.
She enjoyed traveling, camping and sports with her family. When she and her husband retired, they spent nine years with a van and travel trailer camping around the United States. She then settled in State College and was an active member of Park Forest Village United Methodist Church, where she was loved as an adopted "mom" to many. She was also a devoted Lady Lion basketball fan.
There will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Park Forest Village United Methodist Endowment Fund, 1833 Park Forest Avenue, State College, PA 16803.
