Calvin S. Winslow, 89 of Howard passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Susque-View Nursing Home in Lock Haven. He was born in Monument on April 4, 1925, a son of Stewart and Mary Mann Winslow.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Packer on June 14, 1946. She survives.
He proudly served his country in World War II, receiving a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his service.
Calvin worked at the Orviston Brickyards for 20 years and then at Cerro Metal, retiring at the age of 62 after many years of service.
Calvin attended the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.
Surviving, along with his wife is a son; Barry “Pat” (Debbie) Winslow of Howard, a brother; Bruce Winslow of Beech Creek, a sister; Doris Wallace of Montana, two grandsons; Matthew W. (Marsha) Winslow of Blanchard and Mark W> Winslow of Flemington, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sepember 12, 2014 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 Mains Street, Howard, with the Rev., Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery in Howard Twp.
