Carl E. Smith, Sr., 91, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday February 29, 2016, at his home. Born on October 19, 1924, in Spring Mills, he was the son of the late William W. and Carrie M. Weaver Smith. He married Janet L. Ememhizer Smith who survives at home.
He attended the Spring Mills School System.
Carl worked as a machine operator at Cerro Copper and Brass.
He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
Carl enjoyed attending his hunting camp, bowling, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Along with his wife Carl is survived by one son; Barry E. Smith, one daughter, Sherry M. Carns, two siblings; Dorothy Alters and Harold Smith, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Carl Jr., one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am, Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte, PA.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, at the church, at 11am, with the Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating.
Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
