Charles R. "Butch" Haines, Sr., 63, of rural Bellefonte, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in Bellefonte, on Sept. 21, 1946, the son of Bertha McCulley Haines, of Julian, and the late Robert H. Haines. He was a farmer and truck driver for Dave Lucas Trucking of Milesburg, Pa. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy. He was of the Methodist Faith.
Butch enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he also enjoyed the outdoors.
He married the former Anna L. Martin Haines, on May 4, 1964, she survives at home. In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by two sons, Wilson E. Haines, Sr., of Bellefonte, and Charles R. Haines, Jr., of Philipsburg; one daughter, Tammy Y. Haines-O'Neill, of Hummelstown; one brother, Melvin "Bud" Haines, of Milesburg; one sister, Donna Sunday, of Julian; 11 grandchildren, Wilson Haines, Jr., Brent Haines, Chase Haines, Amanda Haines, Jolene Haines, Robert Haines, Glenn Haines, Sara Bartley, Kylee Bartley, Amber Houser and Dalton Gillette; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at 8 p.m., military honors will be accorded, at Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Pa. Friends will be received, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Dean K.
