Charles Leroy "Charles" Weaver, 83 of Howard, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Charles was born on June 26, 1925 in Mill Hall the son of the late Harvey and Flora Butler Weaver. On March 17, 1945 in Paris he married Lucie H. Ravnel who preceded him in death on April 11, 2008.

Charlie was a dairy farmer and had worked at Cerro Metal for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the European/African Theater in the 228th Chemical Base Depot Company.

He was a member of the Centre County Democratic Club. He enjoyed going for rides with his dog, watching Phillies baseball and hunting.

he is survived by a son; Mitchell Weaver and his wife Marian of Howard. Four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Weaver.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Marion Twp., Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
