Christopher Michael Smith, 44, of Moshannon, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on April 5, 1974, in Lewistown, he was the son of Frank R. Smith, Jr of Cleveland, OH and Sharon V. Fultz Smith of Parma, OH. On January 22, 1994, in Centre Hall, he married Rebecca K. Walters, who survives at home. Chris and Becky renewed their wedding vows on May 9, 1999 at Camp Kanesatake.
Chris was a 1993 graduate of Indian Valley High School. He later earned his CYIA Certification, which he was very proud of his accomplishment. He was a member of the Mountaintop Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe. He was employed as a Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Chris was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed being with friends and extended family, being in the woods, target shooting, and singing. He was a great artist and enjoyed drawing. Chris was very involved in the ministry of Christ. He loved to talk to people about his church and his beliefs. Chris was an excellent cook. He enjoyed working in the kitchen at the church and assisted in many church meals. He loved working with children and helping them understand Christ.
Chris is survived by his parents, wife; Becky, two sons; Michael Christian Smith and his wife, Shannon Darcy Smith, of Bellefonte and Brandon Scott Smith and his companion, Ashley Nicole Efthimiou and her son, Xavier Michael, of Moshannon.
Also surviving is his sister, Rachel Ann Smith of Cleveland, OH, material grandmother, Mary Joanne Green of Centre Hall, and his best friend, Charles L. McCracken and his wife, Susan, of Altoona and many friends. Chris will be missed by all that knew him.
Chris was preceded in death by his material grandfather, Rev. Paul E.J. Fultz, uncle, Rodney A. Fultz and cousin, David P. Fultz.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Mountaintop Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 675 E. Sycamore Rd, Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11am, at the church, with Pastor Daniel Stegeman and Pastor Robin Harchak officiating. Burial will follow at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Twp.
