Obituary of Dale Watson, 73

Dale H. Watson, 73, of rural Bellefonte, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born Feb. 21, 1938, in Moshannon, he was the son of the late Carl M. and Headvig Issacson Watson. On June 30, 1962, he married former Joycelene A. Breon Watson, who survives at home. Dale was a heavy equipment operator for Penn Dot for 38 years, having retired Sept. 20, 2002. He was of the Protestant Faith. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Bellefonte Elks. Dale enjoyed feeding birds, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to camp. He also liked watching the fire in his fireplace. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tonya M. Hurd and her husband, Dean, of Bellefonte; three sons, Timothy E. Watson and his wife, Cheryl, of Milesburg, Kevin D. "Malcolm" Watson, of Howard, and Michael C. Watson and his wife, Kennette, of Centre Hall; one sister, Delores Manson, of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Dennis Watson, and Douglas Watson, both of Moshannon; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Christina N. Watson. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, with Pastor Rob Tevis officiating. Friends will be received Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township. Arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg.
