Daniel D. Fishburn, 48, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Born on March 12, 1965, in Bellefonte, he was the son of M. Dennis Fishburn and Barbara A. Gunsallus Fodor. On December 15, 1990, in Ft. Eustis, VA, he married Heather M Marshall who survives in Bellefonte.
Daniel was of the Catholic faith. He was a 1983 graduate from Bald Eagle Area High School. He was enlisted in the US Army, serving during the Persian Gulf War. For his service, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Driver & Mechanic Badge (Driver-Wheel) Aircraft Crewman Badge, and the Expert (M-16 Rifle). He was employed as an over the road truck driver for Modern Transportation.
Daniel enjoyed target shooting collecting all types of guns, working on the truck with his boys, boating, and fishing. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his children. He was a social member of the Snow Shoe Fire Hall.
Daniel is survived by his wife, three children; Kasey L. Fishburn of Jersey Shore, Kyle and Kolton Fishburn, both at home. Also surviving is his father, M. Dennis Fishburn and his wife, Debra of Bellwood, mother; Barbara A. Fodor and her husband, Gottfried, of Bellefonte, two sisters; Lisa M. Fishburn of Pleasant Gap and Lori A. Riggs and her husband, John, of Pine Glen, and paternal grandmother, Lillian Fishburn of Bellefonte.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 11am – 1pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bo King officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.
