David Wolin David Wolin, 55, a kind and gentle soul, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 16, 2010, at his home in State College.
Dave was a loving husband of 27 years to his wife, Julie Masorti Wolin, who preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by two sons, John Miles and Jacob Allen. Dave was blessed with a grandson, Matthew Miles Blitz Wolin, age 2.
He grew up in Toledo, Ohio where his mother, Gloria, and brother Craig and family continue to live. Dave proudly served in the USAF. He is preceded in death by his father, Ivan, and younger brother, Mark. Dave will fondly be remembered by his nieces and nephews who knew him as a kind, gentle and generous uncle. Brittney, Emily, Natalie, Rachel, Reid, Ivan, Sarah, Andrea, Justin, Mark, Josh, Chelsea, Tony, Lucas, Mario and Esme will miss their Uncle David at the family gatherings where he was always found behind the camera as the family photographer.
David touched and changed the lives of hundreds of students whom he taught at the Central PA School of Massage during the last 15 years. He was open, patient, funny, tolerant and so accepting of students' needs and differences. On many days, a word or a touch from Dave was all that was needed to brighten the day. Dave was passionate about photography, military history, and spiritualism, an avid reader and sports fan. He traveled to golf and camp with his Dayton friends for 16 years.
We will all miss this easy going, loving father, son and son-in-law, brother and brother-in-law, uncle, grandfather, superb teacher, Wal-Mart shopper, and loyal friend. Julie welcomes you, Dave, with open arms.
A memorial service will be held at State College Presbyterian Church 2:30 p.m, Sunday, April 25, 2010. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
