Dennis W. McMichael, 67, of Pennsylvania Furnace, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at home after a courageous two year battle with mesothelioma sarcoma. A son of the late Wayne Fleming McMichael and Dorothy (Sleeman) McMichael, he was born on February 2, 1946, in Atlantic City, NJ and grew up on a farm near Imperial, PA. He was married to Ann (Brown) McMichael who survives at home.
He was a 1966 graduate of West Allegheny High School, and served in the Air Force Reserve.
Dennis was employed by Stocker Chevrolet Subaru as an automotive sales representative for over 30 years. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and walking with his wife and dogs.
He is survived by one daughter from his first marriage, Dawn Brininger, her husband Eric and two grandchildren, Cassidy Brininger and Courtney McMichael. Also surviving are one sister, Jeanne M. Suit, her husband Donald, and their son John; two step-sisters, Bonnie Miller and Sherri Flint; one half brother, John Blume; brother-in-law, Robert Brown, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bingham; a niece, Leah Winegardner, her husband William, and their daughters, Madison and Mackenzie, niece, Janet Boyer her husband Bruce and their children, Ben and Isabelle; a nephew, Michael Bingham, his wife Bridget, and their son, Jeremiah. Also surviving are his beloved dogs, Alex and Shiloh.
He was a member of Saab Griffin Society and Chevrolet Legion of Leaders.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.
