Donald O. Clouser, 73, of Houserville, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at his home.
He was born January 19, 1937, in Lemont, a son of the late Leroy and Emma Clouser.
On September 1, 1960 he married Delores A. Koch who survives at home.
Donald graduated from State College High School and attended Penn State majoring in Civil Engineering. He went on to serve in U. S. Army from December 29, 1955 to December 28, 1961, earning the rank of Specialist 4, and was awarded a good conduct medal and a expert rifle medal.
Early in his life he worked at the University Book Store. He retired from the U. S. Post Office in State College, where he had worked as a mail sorter.
Among the things he enjoyed most were, bowling, hunting, Sunday family Poker games, and Wednesday night dart shooting. He also enjoyed attending turkey shoots and various other sports, and in his younger years enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Donna E. Homan and her husband Larry of Centre Hall; three sons, John L. Clouser of State College, Donald R. Clouser and his wife Carol of Port Matilda, and Michael D. Clouser of State College; two sisters, Beulah Houser and Verna Hartman both of Lemont; four brothers, Harold Clouser of Belleville, Ronald Clouser of Huntingdon, Clyde Clouser of State College, and Paul Clouser of Bellefonte; seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley; and three brothers, Harry, Clarence, and Stanley.
Friends will be received from 7 – 9 p. m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, P. C. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 10:00 a. m. Friday, Deccember 17, 2010, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Howard Woodruff officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
