Dorcas E. Klinefelter, 78, of State College, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on July 2, 1934 in Runville, she is a daughter of the late Douglas L. and Annie E. (Williams) Brooks.
On April 25, 1953, she was married to Kenneth P. Klinefelter Jr., who preceded her in death on September 28, 1997.
Mrs. Klinefelter is a graduate of Bellefonte High School.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed puzzles, bowling, taking care of children, and spending cherished time with her family.
She is survived by six daughters, Karen D. Klinefelter of Bellefonte, Marcy D. Woodring (Terry) of Port Matilda, Jeanne Ripka (Dennis) of Julian, Annie Royer (Wayne) of Bellefonte, G. Ranee Johnson (R. Kim) of Port Matilda, and Heather Fults (Mike) of Bellefonte; one son, Kenneth P. Klinefelter III (Vicky) of Port Matilda; one sister, Emma Jane Confer of Julian; one brother, Roy Brooks (Sharon) of Runville; one aunt, Catherine Jodon of Bellefonte; two brother in laws, Bill Tibbens of Pleasant Gap and Nelda Jay Klinefelter of Virginia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Royer in 2011; two sisters, Edith Brooks and Eva Eminhizer; and three brothers, Russell, David, and Harry Brooks.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday, January 11, 2013, beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Stephen Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Centre County Memorial Park.
