Dorothy A. McCloskey, 88, of Pleasant Gap, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Wynwood House, Boalsburg.
Born September 28, 1927, in Pleasant Gap, a daughter of the late William and Julia DeArmett Klinger. On February 9, 1946 she was united in marriage to Paul E. McCloskey, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2002.
She is survived by two children, Wilma E. ( Dale) Wilcox of Centre Hall, and Willard E.( Elizabeth) McCloskey of Pleasant Gap; a sister, Iva Lou (Marvin) Knepp, of North Carolina; a brother, Lee Waite, of Pleasant Gap; six grandchildren, James Hammond III, Sheila Cook, Teresa Weyant, Jason and Justin McCloskey, Douglas Isenberg, and 15 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two half sisters, and two step-brothers.
Dorothy was a homemaker with a love for baking, especially apple pie and oatmeal cake, and a love for spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.
Dot was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church where she participated in the Woman's Club, the Woman's circle, and the Lunch Bunch.
She was also a member of Senior Citizens Bingo of Mill Hall, and the Allegheny Mountain Region Antique Auto Club.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Rev. Stephen Durr officiating.
Burial will be in Hublerburg Cemetery, Walker Townhip.
