Dorothy J. Smith, 91, of Bellefonte, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Centre Crest. Born February 8, 1923, in Pleasant Gap, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Francis (Garbrick) Brooks. She was married to Mark W. Smith, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of the Bellefonte Academy and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Neva K. Johnston of Grove City, one son, Drew Smith of Bellefonte, two sisters; Eleanor Barnett of Bellefonte, Audrey Clouser of State College, one brother, Harold Brooks of Bellefonte, along with five grandchildren; Terry and Abagail Johnston, Kharyn, Khayla and Kheana Smith.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Bill Smith, and one brother Luther Brooks.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 4-5 pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA, with the funeral service to follow at 5 pm, at the funeral home, with Rev, Thomas Osif officiating. Burial will be private in Zion Cemetery, Walker Township.
