Earl R. Moore, 85 of Blanchard, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Manor Care in Jersey Shore. He was born on December 22, 1932 in Jacksonville, the son of the late Frank & Eva I,. Ramsch Moore.
He was an inspector for Piper Air Craft for over 31 years and he worked for 12 years at Lock Haven University retiring in 1997. He served as a supervisor for Liberty Twp. as well as secretary and treasurer. He also served on the LIberty Twp. serwer authority.
He married Lois L. Walker who survives at home.
Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and belonged to the church care group. He was also a member of the American Folk Musician Association.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, mowing and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons; Randy E. Moore of Mill Hall, Arlen R. (Susan) Moore of Blanchard, one brother; Clyde (Margaret) Moore of Cary, N.C., one sister; Sara (Harold) Englert of Blanchard, two grandchildren; Jared (Hollie) and Brian Moore, and three great-grandchildren; Isabella, Violet, and Elijah. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Malcolm, Wilbur, Merrill, and Clair Moore and three sisters; Virginia Thompson, Regis Moore, and Regis Waltz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 N. Beach St., Blanchard, with the Rev. Wally Kocher officiating. Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church and also 30 minutes prior to the service on Saturday morning.
Burial will be at the Blanchard Christian Cemetery with Military Honors.
