Edna Mae Meyer, 96 of Centre Hall, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Centre Crest. She was born December 14,1919 in Centre Hall; a daughter of Orvis C. and Ella P. Rachau Meyer.
Edna graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School with the class of 1939.
Early in life she was employed by Hanover Foods, later during World War II she worked at the former Titan Metals. In 1947 she started her career at the Pennsylvania State University, retiring from the Food Service Division in 1982 with thirty five years of service.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was what she cherished most. Edna was best known for her “Sunday dinners” and “telling it like it was”. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Surviving Ms. Meyer is one daughter; Kathy Lee Mothersbaugh and her husband Bob of Spring Mills, PA one granddaughter; Kimberly Rimmey and husband Mark, one grandson; Rob Mothersbaugh and five great grandchildren; Kaitlyn Myers, Hailee Miller, Leah, Cameron and Adam Mothersbaugh; three great-great grandchildren; Remy Miller, Stella and Liam Myers and one sister Mary “Bets” Burris of Centre Hall.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters; Beulah McCool, Ethel Snyder and Dorothy Royer.
Pastor Pick will provide a private service for the family on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1-2pm at Heintzelman’s Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Emmanuel Union UCC at 120 Tusseyville Road Centre Hall, PA 16828 or to a charity of the donors choice.
