Eleanor L. Kushwara Adams, 93, formerly of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at The Hearthside Nursing Home in State College, where she had been a resident since Feb. 7, 2008.
She was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Driftwood, a daughter of the late Malcolm H. and Emma C. Priest Hall. In 1942, she married Vincent W. (Wes) Kushwara who died on Feb. 11, 1962. On May 27, 1974, she married George E. (Judd) Adams who died on Aug. 2, 1977.
Eleanor attended school in Milesburg. She worked in sales for Turners in Bellefonte and W.T. Grant at the Nittany Mall. Following her second husband's death, she moved from Renova, PA, back to Bellefonte. Prior to her admittance to The Hearthside, she went almost daily to the Nittany Mall.
Eleanor is survived by three children; Sylvia Confer, of Bellefonte, Vincent Kushwara (Carol), of Bellefonte, and Carol Stewart (Joe), of State College; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, E Janye Fochler and two brothers, Malcolm D. Hall and William Emerson Hall.
Visitation and services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County Office of Transportation, 420 Holmes Ave, Bellefonte PA 16823.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Hearthside in State College, Dr. Dennis Shannon and his staff at Centre Medical Associates, Lisa Zettle and the Centre County Office of Aging and a special thanks to the staff at the Centre County Office of Transportation for their many years of service in providing transportation for Eleanor to and from the Nittany Mall.
