Obituary of F. Lucretia Shuey , 88

F. Lucretia Shuey 88, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township. Born on July 2, 1927, in Spring Township, she is the daughter of the late Fred E. Sr. and Pearl E. (Rutherford) Cain. On April 28, 1946, she married Elmer L. “Bud” Shuey, who survives at home.

Lucretia attended the Bellefonte School System.

She was a homemaker.

Lucretia was a member of the New Hope Alliance Church of Bellefonte where she served many positions including a Sunday school teacher and pianist. She enjoyed going to Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte, crocheting and playing the organ.

She was a member of the Bellefonte Senior Citizens.

Along with her husband Lucretia is survived by one son, Ronald Lee Shuey and his wife Edna of Pine Grove Mills, one sister; Mary Ann Woods of Reedsville, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter; Deborah Shuey Peters and one sister, Shirley Duck and two brothers: Fred E. Cain, Jr. and Harry Cain.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and doctor’s at Mount Nittany Medical Center for the excellent care and treatment of F. Lucretia.

There will be a public visitation held Friday, July 24, 2015, from 10am until 11am, the time of the service at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

Funeral services will be held Friday, at 11:00am, at the funeral home with the Reverend Hoskins officiating.

Burial will follow at the Jacksonville Cemetery in Marion Township.
