Frances Eileen Younkin, 87, of State College, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Foxdale Village.
Born July 30, 1923, in Friedens, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Charles and Margaret Bender. In 1945, she married Dwight Edwin Younkin, who died in 1980. Frances was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and she also enjoyed traveling around the world.
She is survived by two children, Bruce A. Younkin and his wife, Susan, of State College, and Jeanne Younkin Stover and her husband, Fred, of Centre Hall. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Younkin and Allen and Cody Stover; and two great-grandchildren, Josephine and Evelyn Younkin.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Foxdale Village, 500 E. Marylyn Ave., State College. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery, Friedens, with the Rev. Edward DeVore officiating. Donations may be made in memory of Frances to the Dwight E. and Frances E.
