Gerald E. "Jerry" Artz, 80, of Yarnell passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. He was born in Pine Grove Mills, on January 6, 1932, a son of the late Raymond S. and Emily Steele Artz. On January 30, 1955 he married his wife the former Jean L. Miller who survives at home. He was a truck driver for Firestone and recently was employed by S&R Trucking of Wingate. He was a member of the Yarnell United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the Milesburg American Legion Post 893 and the Farm Antique Museum. He enjoyed restoring antique cars (Corvettes), he also loved dirt track racing, NASCAR, football and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by one daughter, Donna J. Chronister of Yarnell and one son; Lewis S. Artz of Yarnell. He is survived by four sisters; Marjorie Goetz of Appomattox, VA, Shirley Hykes of York, Mary Copenhaven of Bloomsburg and Patsy E. Artz of York; two brothers; Raymond S. Artz of Landisville and John N. Artz of West Milton. Jerry also is survived by two grandchildren: Marilynn McClusick of Snow Shoe and Carolynn Stoicheff of State College and four great grandchildren; Kiara McClusick, Justyn McClusick, Aaron McClusick and Derrick Stoicheff. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn D. Artz and a brother, James K. Artz. Funeral Services will be held at the Yarnell United Methodist Church, 808 Yarnell Road, Bellefonte, Pa., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 12:30 P.M. with Pastor Douglas W. Mellott officiating. Friends will be received Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at the Yarnell United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa.
