Geraldine M. Wert, 83, of Centre Hall, died peacefully at her home, on Thursday, December 16, 2010.
She was born November 15, 1927 in Haines Township Centre County, the daughter of the late John and Tilelah Vonada Burd.
On July 3, 1948 she married Glen A. Wert who preceded her in death August 9, 2009.
Geraldine graduated from East Penns Valley High School in 1945.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, in Centre Hall. Mrs. Wert was a homemaker who was devoted to the well being of her family. Skilled in craft work, she especially enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Surviving Mrs. Wert are a daughter Cherie L. Wert of State College, and a son John A. Wert and his wife Janice of Spring Mills; five grandchildren, Michael Stitzer and his wife Cori, Mark Stitzer and his wife Melissa, John Michael Wert and his wife Gretchen, Jeffrey Wert and his wife Becky and Jason Wert and his wife Jenna; four great granddaughters, Meghan, Emily, Caroline and Kylie.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. The funeral will follow immediately at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend Jeffrey Mugridge officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
