Gloria Victoria Patishnock, 78, a lifelong resident Snow Shoe, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
She was born November 13, 1933, in Snow Shoe, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Blazosky Kirko.
On February 17, 1953, in Hagerstown MD, she married George Patishnock who preceded her in death June 9, 1996.
Later in life she attended Empire Beauty School, and worked hard to obtain her license. She owned and operated the Gloria Patishnock Beauty Salon, in Snow Shoe, for thirty years. Her real joy in life was doing people’s hair. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Church where she was active in the church choir. She was also a member of the Snow Shoe Woman’s Club.
Surviving are five children, Robert Patishnock and his wife Kim of Blanchard, Shane Patishnock and his wife Judy of Havre de Grace, MD, Kimberly Wayne and her husband Bob of York,PA, Russel Patishnock and his wife Cindy of Stafford, VA, and Kristin Taylor and her husband Rich of Unionville, PA; one sister Helen Lawer and her husband Bud of Cleveland, OH; one brother Edward Kirko of Old Saybrook Conn.; twelve grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Patishnock, Melony Peters, Gerrica Robinson, Brian Stover Jr., Jessica Patishnock-Jackson, Christopher Patishnock, Jennell Moser, Kevin Hoerner, and Ryan, Justin, and Joshua Patishnock and three great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 – 9 p. m. Thursday, August 9, 2012, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. Friday August 10, 2012 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A Blessing Service will held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, at the funeral home with the Reverend Father Lubomir Strecok officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
