James A. Boob, 75, of Aaronsburg, departed from this life on April 11, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Aaronsburg.
Jim, son of the late Miles E. Boob and Evelyn A. Schultz Boob, was born in Aaronsburg on Jan. 14, 1935. On June 27, 1953, he married the love of life, Eileen Eisenhuth at his home in Aaronsburg. Mrs. Boob survives at their home.
Jim retired from Gettig Manufacturing as a machine shop foreman with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Spring Mills Fish & Game and the Millheim Fire Co. and also a former member of the NRA.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his dogs, playing cards, reading and doing word and number search books. He also enjoyed gun collecting and target shooting, of which he taught his wife, and mother in law to do. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather, working hard to take care of his family. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three daughters, Lois J. Loner-Arnold (Richard), of Las Vegas, Nev., Patti J. Lowe and Theresa E. Shaffer-Fry, both of Aaronsburg; 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jana, Jimmy, Lisa, Jerry, and Linsey Loner, Tracy, Jessica and Jacob Lowe and Teri and Melinda Shaffer. Also surviving are seventeen great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Evangelical Reformed Cemetery in Aaronsburg on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Covalt officiating. In accordance with Jim's wishes, please dress casually, no "monkey suits". In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be given to Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Ave., Po Box 352, Altoona, Pa. 16603.
