Obituary of James Hillard, 57

James A. Hillard, age 57, of rural Bellefonte, died Saturday, November 30, 2013, at his residence. He was born January 8, 1956, in Bellefonte, the son of the late Eugene C. and Shirley Flack Hillard. He was employed at Penn State University for 29 years in Preventive Maintenance Department in the office of the Physical Plant. He served in the US Army and the Army National Guard retiring as a SSG in the Headquarters and Headquarters Co. 2nd BN. 112th Infantry. He was a 1974 Graduate of State College High School. He is survived by daughter Shannon L. Hillard (Shawn Reese) of rural Bellefonte, and a special daughter, Leah Snyder of Port Matilda; one son, James A. Hillard, Jr. of State College. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 6 P.M. in The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, with Pastor Renee Ford officiating. Family and Friends will be received 1 hour prior to services in the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, where military honors will be accorded. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Huntington's Disease in c/o of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, PO Box 288, Milesburg, PA 16853. Arrangements are under the direction of Dean K.
