James Howard “Whitey” Wilson, 74 of Howard, passed away peacefully October 5, 2013. He was born on April 14. 1939 in South Fork, Pa the son of the late Clyde and Gladys Wilson.
He graduated from the South Fork Croyle High School and PA State Police Academy. James attained the rank of Sargent in the PA State Police and retired after 33 years of servie. James also served in the United States Army.
Jim was married to Patricia Owens on December 31, 1962, they remained devoted in marriage for 50 years.
Jim is survived by his wife Patricia, son Christopher, his sister Jane, and other family and numerous friends. Jim was preceded in death along with his parents his brother, David Wilson.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and angler. He enjoyed the yearly care taking of his farm and orchard. He loved detailing his corvette and going to car shows. He was a member of Howard Area Lions, the Masonic Lodge and the Jaffa Shrine.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard with the Pastor Richard Gilbaugh officiating. A dinner will follow service at the Beech Creek Firemen's Social Hall. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends and family will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
