Jeanette E. (Haagen) Robinson, 96 of Waller, Tx. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Plains, Montana.

Jeanette was born on March 2, 1921 in Yarnell, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Harry Strayer and Frances Myrtle (Confer) Haagen. On July 2, 1938, she married the late Edward Irvin Robinson in Catlettsburg, Ky. His untimely death broke a marital union of 30 years.

Jeanette was a person who loved life, her family and people she met along the way. She didn't shy away from a challenge at any age. After her husbands death, she began working at Penn State University in the Entomology Dept. where she was affectionately known as the “Bug Lady”. Always a huge proponent of education, jeanette took courses at the university. She held this joyb until her first retirement in 1982. In 1990, Jeanette ran a local greenhouse business in Forest Hill originally called Kozicky's Greenhouses, and later renamed Robinson's Rapid Run Greenhouses. Many hours were spent in those greenhouses with her sons, daughters, and grandchildren making memories, planting, watering and selling flowers. Quite a few friendships were culivated during that time also. Over the years, she also cleaned apartments with her family at the Penn State University. In 2001, Jeanette moved to Waller, Tx. where she started another greenhouse business on a smaller scale.

Jeanette was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Marsh Creek, Pa. and served as a Boggs Twp. Auditor and on the Board of Elections. She also enjoyed spending time wiht her family, reading, gardening, teaching her children and grandchildren the remarkable oral history of her family and watching her grandchildren play sports. Jeanette had a unique talent of finding something of interest to share with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeanette is survived by her children Susan Confer of Plains, Montana, Dennis Robinson of Sealy, Tx., Joyce Lucas of Howard, Kathleen Woomer and her husband Gerald of Howard, Kevin Robinson and his wife Carrie of Waller, Tx., and Rhodes Robinson and his wife Mary Ann of Snow Shoe, Pa., 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Shirley McCloskey of Bellefonte, and W. Vance Haagen and his wife Jane of Bellefonte. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents, sons Nathan, Richard and David Robinson and daughter Martha Boone, sisters Winifred Kozicky, Relda Breon, Wilda Haagen, Jean Abbott and Doris Haagen and brothers Jerome, Neil, RIchard and James Haagen.
