Jo Ann D. Rockey 78, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday January 7, 2009 at the Fairways at Brookline. Born August 9, 1930 in Bellefonte, she is the daughter of the late Robert Davison and Eva Jene Sawyer Davison. On July 14, 1951 she married Richard Rockey who survives at home.
Jo Ann was a 1948 graduate of the Bellefonte Area High School.
She worked as an administrative assistant for the Pa Public Asst. Office
Jo Ann was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte where she served on the board of trustees and numerous other offices. And she was a member and officer of the United Methodist Women.
She was also a member of the Bellefonte Jr. Women's Club and the Bellefonte Women's Club. She served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years. She also served as executive secretary for the Bellefonte Chapter of the American Red Cross for many years.
Jo Ann enjoyed spending the last 17 years wintering in Florida.
Along with her husband she is survived by 1 daughter, Kathy Jo Wilson and her husband John of Bellefonte,=2 0and 2 grandchildren; Michael Wilson of Brooklyn, NY and Erin Wilson of Athens OH.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra J Rockey and a sister, Shirley Port.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at the Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
