John A. 'Johnny A', Michna, 55, of Bellefonte died unexpectedly Saturday, August 15, 2009, at his residence in Bellefonte.

He was born November 14, 1953 at Staten Island, NY a son of Rose Marie Fusillo Dawes of Camarillo, CA, and the late Stanley Michna.

'Johnny A.', as he was fondly known, was a truly free spirited person who loved life. He excelled in the field of music having written the music and lyrics for several songs. He was especially adept at playing the guitar having played in several local groups, and with the Earthtones Band doing both vocal and instrumental work. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and golfing.

John was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 206 in Bellefonte, and social member of the American Legion in State College.

His charisma carried into his profession as a car salesman. While working for Stocker Chevrolet at State College, he received multiple distinguished sales awards, and loved spending time with his customers.

A loving and devoted father, he is survived by three daughters, Leslie Chase and her husband Ryan of Pensacola, FL, Christine Michna and her companion Lance Stover of Bellefonte, and Leanna Michna of Bellefonte; two sons, Cory Michna of San Diego, CA and Dylan Michna of Bellefonte; and two brothers, Robert Michna of Alabama and Eugene Michna of Camarillo, CA.

A memorial service is being planned for 7:00 p. m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, PA with the Rev. LeRoy Reitz officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. (As of this writing, services are tentative and will need to be confirmed. Time and place of service will be updated on this site, and will appear in the Thursday edition of Centre Daily Times.) Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
