John E. Davis, 72, of rural Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at his residence. John was born on July 16, 1946 in Clymer, Indiana Co., PA a son of the late Edward and Anna Cingle Davis. On October 12, 1968, he married the former Gail Hoy, who survives at home. Also surviving are his children, John E. Davis, Jr. of Pleasant Gap, Jeffrey M. (Amy) Davis of rural Julian, and Rebecca L. (John) Barton also of rural Julian, also surviving are his grandchildren, Rachel (Trevor) Meeker-Lobb of Grassflat, Jacob Davis of rural Julian, Dustin Barton of rural Julian, Miya Barton also of rural Julian, and his great-grandson, Waylen Lobb. John is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Sophie) Cingle of Clarence and his sister, Margaret (Jim) Jozefik of Snow Shoe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Davis.

John is a 1965 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was a veteran having served in the US Army Reserves. John was employed at Cerro Metal Products as a custodian before his retirement.
John was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed the game of baseball. He was a coach for the Runville Little League Baseball, he was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and Penn State sports fan.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking his grandchildren on tractor rides.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November, 5, 2018 at 10 :00 A.M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg with Father George Jakopac, officiating. Committal services will be in Saint John Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte, Pa.
