Kenneth H. Dixon Jr. 78, of Boalsburg, went home to be with his Lord; Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 20, 1935 in Clearfield County, PA a son of the late Kenneth H. Dixon Sr. and Mabel Butler Dixon.

On September 1, 1956 he married V. Lane Reese Dixon who preceded him in death September 27, 2003. On June 17, 2006 he married Elsie Hammond Noel Dixon who survives at home.

Ken was a graduate of Clearfield High School. He was employed at the Pennsylvania State University from 1957 through 1991, when he retired as a machinist.

Mr. Dixon was a member of State College Assembly of God where he served on the Board of Deacons and as an usher. He was a member of the Harris Township Lions Club where he earned the distinguished Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He served as a volunteer at Mt. Nittany Medical Centre in the Physical Therapy Division.

Earlier in life he played softball. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed Penn State sports, and hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife Elsie, is one daughter Diane Marie Dixon of White Haven, PA; one brother Dennis L. Dixon and his wife Mary Jane; of Bellefonte; three step daughters, Nancy Potter (John) of Boalsburg, Cindy Feagley (Steve) of Saulsburg, and Linda Bowman (Mark) of State College; three step sons, James Noel of Huntingdon, Timothy Noel (Ruth) of Mooresville and Kim Noel; 11 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by a son Thomas A. Dixon and a sister Barbara J. Fye.

Friends will be received from 6 – 8 p. m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at State College Assembly of God, 2201 University Dr. Extension, State College, PA; and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, also at the church The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 a. m. with the Reverend K. R. Mele and the Reverend Steve Silliman officiating. Burial will follow in the Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.
