Larry C. Walker, Sr., 73, of rural Julian, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1937, a son of the late Norman and J. Isabel Hinds Walker in Spring Township, Centre County. Mr. Walker was a self-employed truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard Reserve. He attended Living Faith Church, of Milesburg, Pa. He was past Post Commander of Milesburg American Legion Post 893, and a member of the Union Grange and was an avid fan of NASCAR and Penn State Football.
He married the former Sharon L. Swab Walker, May 28, 1988. She survives at home. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Diane (Matthew) Joint, of Ripley, N.Y. and Edith M. Suhy, of Julian; four sons, Larry C. "Curt" (Sue) Walker, Jr., of Moshannon, Brian C. (Kelly) Walker, of Julian, Timothy A. (Rhonda) Walker, of Hob Sound, Fla., Anthony Walker, of W. Palm Beach, Fla. and Joseph A. (Mindi) Suhy, of Bellefonte; one sister, Delores Vonada, of Zion; two brothers, Ray A. Walker and Neil Walker, both of Pleasant Gap; and 12 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Schreffler Rose and a brother, Linn E. Walker.
Services will be held at the Living Faith Church of Milesburg, Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Friends will be received Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Living Faith Church, Milesburg, Pa. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
