Martha Jane Mayes, 87, of Clarence passed away February 14, 2012 at Centre Crest. She was born May 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Andrew Fedorisin and Anna Billy Biggans. She married James Edward Mayes, Jr. who preceded her in death Nov. 6, 2007. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Clarence. She loved her Church. She also was a strong supporter of the Snow Shoe Rails to Trails. She is survived by one daughter, Connie Tyger of Clarence, and three sons; Kenneth Mayes of Osceola Mills, Gary Mayes and Larry Mayes of Snow Shoe. She is also survived by two sisters; Helen Messick of Clarence and Genevieve Catherman of Runville. She is survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters; Mary Biggans, Anna Hart, Ella Fedorisin, Pauline Scuderi, Josephine Matis and Margaret Shutica and five brothers; Mike, Andy, Nick, Joey and John Biggans. A memorial service will be held at a later date with Rev. William Rupp officiating. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Woolrich Twp., Clinton Co., Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Pa.
