Mary Frances Delaney, 93, formerly of Centre Hall, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Valley View Retirement Community at Belleville.
She was born March 7, 1921 at State College, a daughter of the late S. Ralph and Esther M. Shuey Ralston.
On November 28, 1940 she married James “Jim” A. Delaney who survives at Belleville.
Mary attended Bellefonte High School, and through out her lifetime worked as a homemaker and assisted on the family farm including caring for various farm animals.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall; the Centre Hall Senior Citizens; the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Antique Machinery Association.
Among the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and working with flowers, creating, astonishing flowers beds and gardens. She loved to work outdoors, but also loved to quilt and sew during the winter months.
Surviving Mrs. Delaney in addition to her husband James, are two daughters, Roseann Rossman (Jack) of Waterport, NY, and Ellen Delaney of Belleville; one son, Samuel Delaney (Helen) of Belleville; three grandchildren, Darbie Evans (James) of Spring Mills, Jack Rossman (Lynne) of Vail CO, Chris Rossman (Cherine) of Carlsbad, CA; and six great grandchildren, Noah and Joshua Evans of Spring Mills, Megan Rossman of Vail, CO, and Sydney, Julia and Shelby Rossman of Carlsbad, CA.; and one sister Sylvia Double of Renfrew.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Delaney was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Jean Delaney in 1953, and by one sister, Helen Loesch.
Following her wishes her memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery at State College at a later date.
