Mary E. Gamble, 94, of Centre Hall, died Monday, March 22, 2010 in the Florida Hospital South in Orlando.

She was born December 6, 1915 in Irwin, PA; a daughter of the late William and Edith Barron Tilbrook.

On August 10, 1940, she married Harvey R. Gamble who survives at home. Mary graduated from Norwin High School in Irwin, PA and earned a degree in Home Economics from Penn State University in 1938. Following her graduation from Penn State, she taught in the Butler School District for three years. After her three children were born, she went back to teaching and taught at Chief Logan High School in Lewistown for eighteen years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Marilyn Gamble of Ringtown; two sons Richard Gamble of Waterford and David Gamble of Brush Valley; three granddaughters, Julie, LuAnn and Betsy; and four great granddaughters, Alyson, Katelyn, Hailey, and Ryleigh.

Friends will be received from noon to 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 p. m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend Russell L. Sauerwein officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA.
