Michael “Mike” Marchiano, age 66, of Hegins, passed away Saturday, July 15th at Manor Care – Sinking Springs.
He was born March 28, 1951, in Mount Holly, NJ, the son of the late John J. and Mary E. (Wright) Marchiano.
After high school Mike went on to work in textiles, and own a business, Rightway Chimney Sweep. He retired after 38 years of service at Guilford Mills (formerly Gold Mills).
Some of Mike’s favorite activities were making meals for his loved ones, collecting memorabilia, and taking trips to the casino and Cirque du Soleil shows. He enjoyed reading horror and fantasy fiction. Mike was a talented bowler in local leagues, recording a score of 738 in a three game series. He also liked playing parlor, board and video games. Mike loved his cats and cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Philip Marchiano and his wife Sandra of Douglassville, PA, Nathan Marchiano of Silver Spring, MD; two sisters, JoAnne Ritter of Trenton, NJ, Cathy Gass of Ocean Pines, MD; one brother Robert Marchiano of Okeechobee, FL, three grandchildren, Blake, Brett, and Breanne. Also surviving are his close friends, Brenda and Craig Leitzel, of Hegins, and ex-wife, Gail Ebert-Marchiano, of Palmyra.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and James Marchiano.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church 1220 W. Maple Street, Valley View, PA. The memorial service will immediately follow with the Reverend Brian Beissel officiating.
