Nancy Joan Bergstrom, 82, of State College, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in State College.

Born on September 28, 1930 in Jamestown, NY, she is a daughter of the late Trygve B. and Dagney C. (Lundgren) Lindahl.

On November 7, 1953 in Jamestown, NY, she was married to John Wellington Bergstrom, who preceded her in death on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Mrs. Bergstrom was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1951 graduate of the Women’s Christian Association Nursing School obtaining the degree of Registered Nurse.

Earlier in life, Nancy was employed as a Surgical Nurse in the state of New York.

She is survived by four children, Sue Raffin and her husband Romel of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Julie Evak and her husband Dan of State College, Lori Kello and her husband Jim of State College, and Jeff Bergstrom and his wife Amy of Swarthmore, PA; grandchildren, Jessica Stoy and her husband Jeff, Laina Richards and her husband Adam, Tanner Evak and his wife Molly, Kayley Raffin, Landon Evak, Matthew Kello, and Sophie, Sydney, and Sylvie Bergstrom; great-grandchildren, Tal and Tenley Richards, and Hazel May Evak; and a sister, Kay Lindahl of California.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 E. College Ave., State College, beginning at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Dr. G. Edwin Zeiders Jr. officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Bergstrom’s memory to the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance fund (BPCAF), P.O. Box 313, State College, PA 16804.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
