Nancy M. Heverly, another angel in Heaven.
Nancy M. Heverly, 94 of Monument, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying of pain. All these things are gone forever”.
She was born November 7, 1920 in Monument, Pa. She was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Jane Smith Shope. Nancy was the youngest child of the family of 27. Times were rough but the love was abundant and shared by all.
Nancy was the wife of the late Blair E. Heverly. Blair went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 1988.
Nancy attended the Monument Church of Christ where she was very active in all their activities.
She loved life, she enjoyed cooking and camping and trying new recipes. She was well known for her raisin filled cookies, donating them to any fundraisers or just giving them to a friend that just stopped in. She always had another seat at the table, no one would ever go hungry at her home. She never expected a “Thank-you” She always gave without a second thought. She enjoyed her garden and her flowers.
Nancy had worked at Bobby Brooks, Sylvania and Armstrong. She also cleaned for several area families.
Nancy and Blair were blessed with seven children; Donald Heverly, who went to Heaven in 2004, Mary Ellen Karichner, Maudella (Jim) Heverly, Lorraine Combs, David (Mabel) Heverly, Marla (Tom) Grugan and Mona (Roger) Falls, 19 grandchldren, 20 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Monument Church of Christ, 26 Rose St., Monument. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Romola Cemetery in Curtin Twp.
