Neil C. Casher, Sr. 62, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Kettle Creek State Park, Renovo. Born on January 26, 1952, in Snow Shoe, he was the son of the late Paul E. & Ann Besterman Casher. On June 7, 1971, in Clarence, he married Linda R. Robinson, who survives at home.

Neil is a 1970 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was employed as a Tow Motor Operator at the Snow Shoe Refractory. He was a member of the Clarence United Methodist Church.

Neil was a social member of the Clarence American Legion, the Clarence Moose, the Renovo Elks Lodge, Renovo American Legion, the Eagles Club in Renovo, the Sons of Italy in Renovo, and the Bald Eagle Bass Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting pool, and an avid dart player. His favorite pastime was being with his grandchildren. They were the love of his life.

Neil is survived by his wife, children; Carla J. Hillard and her companion, Denny Caprio, Jr., of State College, Neil C. Casher, Jr. and his wife, Jaime, of Pine Glen, and three grandchildren; Carlee & Riley Casher, and Kyra Caperio. Also surviving is his two brothers; Fredrick Casher and his wife, Connie, of Keewaydin and Patrick Casher and his wife, Cindy, of Snow Shoe, sister, Phyllis McCloskey of Snow Shoe, his two dogs; Tiff & Tutt, and one cat, Thaylia.

Along with his parents, Neil was preceded in death by a son, Lester T. Casher and a brother in law, Carl McCloskey.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8pm with a Moose Ritual Service at 7:30pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St, Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11am with Pastor Michael Hoskins officiating. Burial will follow at Askey Cemetery.
