Orvis Daniel Delcamp, 90, of Westover, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born March 12, 1919 in Snyder County he was a son of the late Roy and Sarah DeLong Delcamp. On June 5, 1954, he married Margaret Imogene McCardell Totzke, who died Aug. 1, 1986. Orvis graduated from Mifflinburg High School in 1937. He took the DHIA Short Course for milk testers at Pennsylvania State University and was a milk tester for Clearfield County. He was the sole owner and operator of Delcamp Electric. He also served as the Burnside Township, Clearfield County, tax collector for 48 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 2009. Until recently, Orvis was an active member of the East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church and served as church treasurer. He was the Harmony Grange Fair secretary/ treasurer for more than 40 years.
He is survived by two children, Kathryn Mackes and her husband, Paul, of State College, and William Totzke and his wife, Deborah, of Erie; three grandchildren, Vicki Dugan and her husband, Mark, of Morann, Christine Igoe and her husband, Robert, of Bellefonte, and Matthew Totzke and his wife, Becky, of Erie; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Patrick Dugan; brothers, Kenneth, of Lansdowne, Miles and his wife, Martha, Leon and his wife, Marie, and Harold and his wife, Charlotte; and a sister Fredia Schnure, all of Mifflinburg; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Imogene, and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Miriam.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the funeral home with the Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery.
