Phyllis H. Aley, 91 of Jacksonville, passed away Monday, July 18 in Gregg Twp., near Spring Mills, the daughter of the late Ida and William (Lingle) Riplka.

She originally worked for the Woolrich Mill in Howard, and later retired from Penn State. Her favorite work was on the Grange Fair Committee for 32 years where her final assignment was overseeing the craft exhibits.

She married Leon H. Aley on August 1, 1942 in Howard.

She was a member of the Emmanuel UCC Church of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville's Marion Grange all her life. She was actively involved in serving meals at both the church and grange.

She is survived by a son, William of Corning, California, three grandchildren; Lesley of El Cajon, Calif, Bud of San Jose, Calif., and Scott of Port Orchard, Wash.; a sister; Teurezine Bressler of Aaronsburg; and a brother-in-law; Dean Rogers of Bellefonte, and a daughter-in-law; Patsy Aley of Abiline, Texas.

Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son; Blaine Aley, and a sister; Hester Rogers.

She loved the Grange Fair, tenting for many years. She also loved bus tours, word search, playing cards and embroidery.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard. Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2011 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. Burial will be at the Jacksonville Cemetery.
