Obituary of Richard Alexander, 71

Richard Alexander, 71, of Williston, FL formerly of Unionville, PA, died July 26, 2013 at Haven Hospice, Gainesville, FL. He was born on August 19, 1941 in Bellefonte, PA. Dick was a Lab Technician at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, having retired in 2008. He was a member of the Army National Guard of FL, with an honorable discharge. Dick was a 1959 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School, and graduated from Carnegie College at Cleveland, OH as a Medical Laboratory Technician on August 26, 1960. Dick was a member of Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church in Wingate, PA and had attended North Baptist Church of Bronson, FL. He was the son of the late Joseph B. and Florence B. Estright Alexander. Survivors one brother, Donald B. (Barbara) Alexander of Pleasant Gap; four sisters, Martha M. Shope and Janet A. Lose, both of Bellefonte, Jo A. Beck and Judy K. (Gary) Dyke both of Julian. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great /great-great nieces and nephews, and close cousin, Sarah E. Hommel. Time and date of services will be at a later date. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre County, PA.
