Rita Glance Palmer, 84, of State College passed away comfortably at her home from Chronic Renal Disease and Lung Cancer. She was born in Erie, PA to Rose Walczak and Leo Glance. She graduated in 1952 from East High School in Erie as a proud member of the Honor Society. She was active in cheerleading and roller skating.

She worked many years as a secretary supporting her 7 children. For many years she enjoyed yard sales, Ron Gilligan auctions, and breakfasts at the Waffle Shop. She loved cooking shows but did not cook.

More than anything, other than wrestling, she loved her time spent with her children, grandchildren and her 14 great grandchildren. She always had a welcoming smile for friends and neighbors. With her positive and attentive attitude, she easily made people feel comfortable in new relationships, even in the grocery line.

Preceded in death by her husband George F. Palmer and daughter Judy Tressler she is survived by children: Diane Robinson (Ed), Karen Smith (Jim), George (Gwen), David, Tim (Kathy), John (Laureen), and son in law Lynn Tressler, and grandchildren: Lauren Burke, Paul Robinson, Ben, Chad, and Curtis Smith, Phillip and Jill Palmer, Jamie, Mark and Kristen Palmer, Jennifer Moore and Jessica Palmer, Molly Eng and Emily Tressler, sisters of her heart: Barbara Everling (AL), Margie Lund (Erie), and Joy Lose (AL). She has many in- laws, nieces and nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Special thanks and warm hugs to the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center and Mount Nittany Physician Group especially, Dr. Cardell, Kip Peeler, Dr. Pro, Dr. Pepe, Al Lease, Sue Trainor, Dr. Whitlark, Ben and Robin.
