Robert Stephen Hurd, 85 of Pleasant Gap, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1932 in Lock Haven, the son of the late Paul Sr. & Ruth Phoebe Harer Hurd. He married Shirley B. Geise in 1955, she resides at home.
He was a technician for Corning Glass for over 31 years, prior to that he worked at Sylvania in Mill Hall, Williamsport and Altoona. He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School.
Robert enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family, particularly his two grandsons and his dog companion “Bella”.
He was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church.
Robert is survived by one daughter, Lori (Doug) Corman of Zion, four brothers; Paul Jr. of Stratford, Ct., Fred (Irene) of Cogan Station, Dave (Arlene) of Jersey Shore, and Richard (Madeline) of WIlliamsport, his close friend Melvin Bethlehem, two sisters; Elizabeth Hurd of Hughesville and Tish (William) Bonner of Jersey Shore, two grandsons; Jerod Corman of Newberry and Jordan Corman of Zion.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard with the Pastor Crystal Baumgardner officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery.
