Ronald H. “Ron” Frear, 88, of State College, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Centre Crest.

Born April 6, 1930, in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Carl R. and Hazel E. Owens Frear.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald T. Frear of Roswell, GA and Richard Alan Frear and his wife, Jennifer, of Lothian, MD; former daughter in-law, Susan Frear of New Cumberland, PA; a granddaughter, Olivia Madison Frear; thirteen nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ilene Ottens and two brothers, Carl Robert Frear and William John Frear.

Ronald was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Scranton. He received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Keystone Community College in 1951. In 1954 he received a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Penn State University and in 1967 he received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management from the University of Chicago.

He retired in 1987 as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Ronald was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church. He was a life time member of the Penn State Alumni Association, during retirement he served two terms on the Alumni Council and also served on the Membership and Budget Committees. In addition, Ron served as President of the Penn State Cheerleading Club, Vice President of the Back the Lions Club and as a Director of the Lady Lion Cager Club. He was also a member of the Nittany Lion Club, Women's Gymnastics Club, Women's Volley Ball Club and the Softball Club.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Dean Lindsey officiating.

Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
