Roy J. Bartley, 65, of Jacksonville, passed away at Mt. Nittany Medical Center ER on Friday May 18, 2018. He was born in Bellefonte on February 22, 1953 the son of the late Roy and Martha Sproul Bartley Sr.
He was united in marriage to Judy Long on June 23, 2007, she survives at their home.Roy worked in the maintenance dept. at Centre Crest Nursing Home retiring after 27 years of service.
He was a graduate of Bellefonte H.S., Roy was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and the Nittany Valley Antique Assoc. Roy enjoyed attending the Grange Fair, collecting antiques,going to sales and hunting. He truly loved helping others and received his greatest pleasure spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Misty Geier of Julian and Heather Geier of Lewistown, a sister, Beverly ( John) Hazzard of Snydertown, 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded by a brother, Bill Bartley, and a infant sister, Nancy. He was also preceded by his grandson, Cody.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St. Howard with Pastor Bob Dorman officiating. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until the service. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery at the families convenience.
